An old Nag temple is located on the Kartotaka Hills. This temple is devoted to the serpent god, Nag Karkotaka Maharaja. The name of the hill is derived from the mythical cobra Karkotaka. During the occasion of Rishi Panchami, numerous devotees visit this temple to offer their prayers. According to legends, the serpent god guards the natives against snake bites.
