Halasi, Belgaum

Halasi is a town in Khanapur taluk of Belgaum district famous for its historical monuments and temples. Halasi was the capital of a branch of Kadamba dynasty known for their own style of temple architecture.

Halasi is set in the backdrop of lush green Western Ghats and has many temples among which the huge Bhuvaraha Narasimha temple is the most famed. The temple is known for its tall images of Varaha, Narasimha, Narayana and Surya.

The town also has a fort and temples of Gokarneshswara, Swarneshwara, Kapileshwara, and Hatakeshwara among many others.
