Godachinmalki Falls, Belgaum

The Godachinmalki falls is a waterfall located in a deep green valley alongside the Markandeya river in Belgaum district. It is also known as Markandeya Falls and is located in a rugged valley with an exotic and elegant backdrop.

Instead of a single steep drop, the falls take two gentle descents here. The river takes the first fall from a height of about 25 m and flows into the rock valley. After a short distance from the rocky valley, it takes the second fall from a height of about 20 m.

Two dams are present within a radius of 6 km; one built across Ghataprabha river (Hidkal dam) and another one (Shirur Dam) across Markandeya river. The falls is approachable from Godachinmalki village by a short trek through an irregular forest route.
