Arthuna is one of the most visited places of Banswara district and is a site of great archaeological importance. It has a complex having various exquisitely designed temples built in the 11th and 12th centuries. Many shrines that have been excavated here reveal the glorious past of India's rich heritage. Owing to a large number of temples present here, though, Arthuna is often referred to as the village of old and broken temples. The region served as the capital to Parmar rulers in the ancient times.
