In response to this demand, the UAE government introduced the Golden Visa in 2019, signaling a shift from temporary expatriate labor to attracting global talent and investors.
The Golden Visa allows wealthy and talented individuals to live, work, and invest in any of the seven emirates of the UAE: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain.
Offering long-term visas for 5 to 10 years, automatically renewable, the Golden Visa aims to diversify the UAE's economy, reduce reliance on oil, and strengthen sectors like technology, education, and health.
Eligible individuals include investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, outstanding students, humanitarian pioneers, and frontline heroes, who enjoy benefits like living, working, and studying in the UAE without a sponsor, as well as easy travel in and out of the country.
