The weekend is coming! Most of the weekends we would pass away by wasting time, either sleeping through the day or sitting in front of the television or laptop catching up with the missed episodes of your favorite TV Shows or watching movies. Why not try something different? All you need to do is to step out of your homes and sped away to of those destinations which are quite close by from the city of Delhi.

Although Delhi has a large number of attractions within its vicinity, there are many more around the capital city. If you are looking for a spiritual break, one can head to towns of Vrindavan and Mathura which are closely associated with Lord Krishna; if you are looking for history then there is the Neemrana Fort.

Nestled in the foothills of the Aravalli ranges, Sohna is a green town which is located in Haryana. The place is well known for its water springs which are said to possess medicinal properties along with several lakes, it is also home to an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Which gives you all the more reason to visit the place; make it a point to visit the town as the night falls and be mesmerised by its beauty.

About 59 km from Delhi, is the camping site of Dhauj. The place offers a combination of rural life along with a touch of adventure and camping facilities which are surrounded by the wilderness of the majestic Aravalli hills. Situated at a distance of 101 km from here one would reach the beautiful Unchagaon Fort. The fort is an excellent heritage property which exhibits a perfect blend of impeccable hospitality and a touch of royalty. At a distance of 158 km from Delhi, Kesroli is one of the oldest heritage sites in the state of Rajasthan. The village of Kesroli is well known for its 14th century fort which is believed to have been built by the Yaduvanshi Rajputs which stands tall at a height of 200 ft atop dark hornstone breccia rocks. The fort is located right at the centre of the village which almost immediately grabs the attention of its visitors.

Located within 200 km from Delhi are the holy towns of Vrindavan and Mathura. If you are looking forward to a spiritually rejuvenating break head straight to Lord Krishna's birthplace in Mathura and the place where he always charmed the gopikas at Vrindavan. Both the places are bound with history and mythology of numerous temples, which compete with each other over their beauty. The towns are undoubtedly the best places to capture the true essence of Holi.
