Parasnath Hill is a Jain pilgrimage site believed to be the place where twenty of the twenty four Tirthankaras along with many other saints attained Nirvana here. These hills are considered to be the highest peak in Jharkhand. The hill is surrounded by dense forest known as Madhuban. Tourists interested in trekking have to start from Madhuban. The Harihar Dham located about 60 km from Giridih is a famous Shivalinga temple and is known for the largest Shiva Linga with a height of about 65 feet. Nag Panchami is celebrated here at this monument and many marriage ceremonies take place at this temple due to its religious importance.
