Hiking creates some unusual curiosity in our minds. Some trials are easy, can be covered by anyone but many are not that simple. Of course, that doesn't mean amateurs can not perform a full-fledged trek. A thorough knowledge of some basic tips and guidelines are essential to know before you go on an excursion.

1. Easy to Difficult

It is good to start with the easy level treks and further plan for advanced level hikes. Know your strengths and weaknesses before choosing a particular destination. Trekking needs a lot of physical and mental strength. So, don't try to overdo things in your first expedition.

2. Season Specific

Season and climatic conditions play a pivotal role. Check the weather conditions with the concerned authorities before venturing into it. Especially, trekking in the Himalayan regions needs a lot of knowledge about weather conditions even for a beginner level.

3. Comfortable Clothing

Pack according to the seasons; comfortable clothing is what you need for trekking expeditions. Jeans and denim are not considered apt for hiking as they might irritate or not get dried easily after getting wet. Don't forget to carry waterproof jackets in case of sudden rains. Hats, socks and mufflers are important as well.

4. Pack Wise

There is no point in carrying overload! Pack wisely, not necessary to stuff too many things. Depending upon the trekking duration and days to carry your luggage. A light package will help you have a comfortable journey.

5. Hiking Shoes

Don't order hiking shoes online because this won't help. Well-equipped hiking shoes which can provide grip has to be chosen. So, it's better to try it out before buying the shoes.

6. Nutritious Food

Trekking is strenuous; you need to be charged! Carrying nutritious food becomes necessary. Take items which can be cooked and used for a few days. Even chocolates and nuts keep you out from tiredness.

7. Liquids

Lots of water is required for any treks; it is important to keep you hydrated. The problem is, there is no point in lugging liters of water. Find out whether there are water sources in the trail. Take a filter bottle and use water which you get on the way.

8. Items

Bandages, medicines, tents (for camping), blankets, torches, paper maps, whistle (in the case of emergencies) are the most important items which should be in the backpack.

It is not good to go on treks without proper planning. Safety is the key, so take permission from the concerned authorities before barging into an adventure. Make sure you have a group of people unless it is a highly crowded trail.
