Thenmala is said to be derived from the two Malayalam words 'Then' means honey and 'Mala' meaning mountain. It is a pure bliss to explore this untouched beauty. The region is said to be full of medicinal plants and herbs.
Thenmala has three zones called Adventure Zone, Leisure Zone and Cultural Zones. These zones have always drawn large crowds.

Thenmala is situated on the banks of Kallada River; Thenmala Dam built across Kallada River is forms one of the main attractions in Thenmala.

Palaruvi Waterfall is around 14km from Thenmala. The dazzling vistas of Palaruvi Falls is a must to explore on the trip to Thenmala.

How to Reach Thenmala
Thenmala is about 72km from the capital Thiruvananthapuram. It is one of the best places for a road trip in Kerala. It is better to take private vehicles or hire a taxi to reach Thenmala.
