This well-known Kedarnath temple is a part of both the Panch Kedar Yatra and the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra. The Mandakini river flows holy through the temple, giving it a heaven-like appearance.
Tungnath Temple:
It is situated in the Rudraprayag area of Uttarakhand and is the highest Shiva temple in the world. It is situated 3,690 metres above sea level. The Panch Kedar yatra circuit of Uttarakhand includes this temple as well. You will be in awe of the surrounding natural grandeur as you can see numerous peaks, including Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba.
One of the most well-known treks in Uttarakhand starts from Sari village and travels through Chopta, Deorital Lake, and Tungnath. And those who prefer to ascend further higher can see the breathtaking Chandrashila top.
Neelkanth Mahadev Temple:
Another well-known Shiva temple in Uttarakhand is the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, which is situated in the Pauri Garhwal region. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be the place where the deity consumed the poison that emerged during the churning of the ocean.
The temple is a tranquil and calm destination to visit because it is situated at an elevation of 4,400 feet metres above sea level & is surrounded by lush green trees.
Madhyamaheshwar Temple:
Another popular destination in Uttarakhand that should be seen during this time is the Madhyamaheshwar Temple. It is one of the oldest temples in Uttarakhand and is still frequented by devotees from all over India. It is situated in the village of Gaundar in the Garhwal region.
This temple has stunning architecture. Also included in the Panch Kedar Yatra route is this temple. People in this location worship the midsection of Lord Shiva's body, a practice that the Pandavas adopted when they constructed this legendary temple.
Rudranath Temple:
It is believed that during the Panch Kedar yatra circuit, the face of Lord Shiva appeared here and was adored by the Pandavas as they constructed this majestic temple. Trekking is another option for getting to this temple, and while doing so, you'll get the amazing opportunity to see Nanda Ghunti and Trishul mountain peaks. It's stated that, out of all the Panch Kedar circuits, getting to Rudranath Temple can occasionally be the most challenging.
Kalpeshwar Temple:
Unlike other Panch Kedar temples, the Kalpeshwar temple is open all year round and is the simplest of the Panch Kedar circuits to visit. It is located in the village of Urgam in the Garhwal region. As a result, the temple is a major destination for pilgrims in the Garhwal region and has a sizable following all year long. It is said that God Shiva, who had hair locks, arrived here. You only need to walk 300 metres to get here because the region has been renovated and new roads have been built.
