Yercaud, also known as the 'Jewel of the South' is located in Salem district of Tamil Nadu and has become one of a popular tourist attractions in the South. It is as enchanting and picturesque as the hill stations on the eastern ghats and trekking here can be one of the most pleasurable experiences. The climate here in the hill station is pleasant throughout the year making it an ideal place to escape from the summer heat. Many attractions like the Yercaud Lake, Killiyur falls and the Lady's Seat are must visit sight-seeing place in Yercaud. With enchanting landscape and hills, the hill station has developed into a major trekking destination for adventure enthusiasts. Chennai Trekking Club organizes treks in Yercaud. Yercaud is connected to the city of Salem through a Highway and is located at a distance of 28 km.

Horsley Hills is a summer hill station in Andhra Pradesh, about 120 km from Bangalore and about 280 km from Chennai. The major tourist places around Horsely hills are Lake Gangotri, Highview seeing place, Gaalibanda, Environmental park and the Horsley Hills Museum. The hill station is an ideal place for nature and adventure enthusists. Horsley Hills is also one of the few places to offer Zorbing in India. But it requires prior reservation a day before and is normally offered on a group package of minimum 20. Other adventure sports conducted are Rapelling and Trekking. For accommodation, private guest houses are available to travellers. The hills are ideally suited for a day trip and other than the activities at the AP tourism center, there is nothing much else to see or do.

Coonoor is located in the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu and it is the second largest hill station in the Nilgiris after Ooty. The main attraction of the hill station is Sim's Park, a small botanical garden that has several varieties of plants. For adventure travellers, there are trekking trails and one of the popular trekking trails leads tourists to Lamb's Rock that is 9 km from the hill station. These trekking trails offers travellers an enchanting view of the Nilgiris.

Vagamon is a hill station located in Kottayam-Idukki border of Idukki district of Kerala. The hill station is just a perfect getaway to beat the summer heat as the weather remain pleasant throughout the year. Still untouched by commercialisation, the beautiful hill station is surrounded with scenic valleys, beautiful green meadows, enchanting pine forests, tea estates. Vagamon is about 65 km from Kottayam. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport while the closest railway station is Kottayam. There are many resorts available in the surrounding areas with budget suiting for each and every traveller. Key tourist attractions like Thekkady, Idukki and Peermade can be easily reached from Vagamon.

Valparai is a hill station in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. It is located at a distance of about 100 km from Coimbatore and 65 km from Pollachi. It takes travellers about 2 hours to reach Valparai from Pollachi on State Highway 78. The road from Pollachi to Valparai has about 40 hairpin bends and offers breathtaking views of the landscape. Some of the attractions found here are Solaiyar Dam, Pancha Mugha Vinayakar Temple and some waterfalls are found enroute to Valparai.

Kudremukh is located in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka and the nearest airport located to the place is Mangalore International Airport which is located at the distance of 100 km. The place is an ideal for nature lovers and trekkers. Trekking to the Kudremukh peak is permitted from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm after which travellers are not allowed to wander as per forest rules and regulations. For accommodation, government provides shelter including tents and cottages. Travellers visiting the hill station need to reserve well in advance before visiting.

Dandeli is surrounded by the dense deciduous forests of the Western Ghats and is a renowned adventure sports destination in South India and is considered to be one of the top white-water rafting destinations in India.

The hills are located in the Chamarajanagar district and lie at the south eastern border of Karnataka touching Tamil Nadu. The BR Hills provides ample scope for adventure sports like trekking and rafting also. The Cauvery and Kapila Rivers that flow through these hills offer opportunities for angling, fishing and coracle boat riding too.

Bheemeshwari is the ideal weekend getaway for those who wish to escape from the madness of the city. It is an ideal place for fishing and tourists coming here can give a try at angling. There is also a trekking route here which attracts large number of adventure enthusiasts.
