Pisol Fort is located in the Taharabad taluka of Nashik district in the state of Maharashtra and is one of the most beautiful forts in the region. Surrounded by farm fields and green vegetation, the fort has history dating back to several centuries.
Even though it's exact time of formation is still unknown, it is said to have been established during the Medieval Period of India and since then, it has been a significant place in the state. Today, the fort is in ruins and is under the control of the state government.
As it is located at an elevation of about 3500 feet, it makes for a perfect destination amongst trekkers and campers. The base village from where one needs to start trekking is Wadi Pisol. From the village, it takes an average time of 1 h to reach the summit of the fort.

How To Reach Pisol Fort
By Air: The nearest airport to the fort is located in Nashik at a distance of about 125 km. From the airport, you can hire a direct cab to the base of the fort. From the base, you need to trek up the hill to reach the summit of the fort.
By Rail: The major railway station to the fort is located in Nashik. However, you can also catch a train to Dhule railway station, which is located at a distance of about 80 km from the fort and then from there, a cab to the base of the fort.
By Road: The region around the fort has a good road connectivity and hence, you can reach it easily by road. You can either hire a direct bus to the fort or catch a bus to Malegaon and then from there, a cab to the fort. Malegaon is located at a distance of about 50 km from the fort.
