The state is considered as one of the most scenic locations for a festival venue and the state government is all the more welcoming which encourages music festivals to flourish. To add on, is the cultural flavour of the local people, who are always known to be one of the best hosts.

1. Jodhpur RIFF

1. Jodhpur RIFF

RIFF or The Rajasthan International Folk Festival is one of the most popular folk festivals which is hosted in the state. The festival began in the year 2007 with the patronage of the Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger, along with invaluable backing of H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singh II.

Jodhpur RIFF is a well curated to give you an exposure of Rajasthani culture, which is not seen in the mainstream media. The festival gets a magical touch as it coincides with the full moon day, which is considered to be as one of the brightest in North India. The festival is scheduled to happen this year from 5th to 9th October 2017.

The three-day music festival is a unique festival to be experienced. The festival happens at the middle of the desert with only camels as the mode of transport to reach the venue. Imagine yourself dancing under the moonlit sky of a desert, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Here is a big round of applause for the organisers for making this unique, high-energy festival happen. The festival is scheduled to happen from November 16th to 18th 2017; however, dates are yet to be confirmed.

Considered as one of the craziest music festivals of India, Magnetic Fields is a fusion of the rich Rajasthani culture with modern music and contemporary festive culture. The festival takes place in the luxurious venue of the 17th century Alsisar Fort and is a must experience, with treasure hunts, kite flying, secret parties, all of this amidst the magnificence of Shekhawati desert. This high-energy festival is scheduled to happen from 15th to 17th December 2017.

5. Udaipur World Music Festival

5. Udaipur World Music Festival

Being a world music festival, the event happens in multiple venues. The festival aims to bring together different cultures and regions on one stage through music. Every year the festival gathers about 150 odd artist from 16 different countries with one mission, which is to give out the best music to their audience. The Udaipur World Music Festival is scheduled to happen from 9th to 11th February 2018.
