Named after the key role player in the establishment of the place, Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park of India. Jim Corbett was an environmentalist who raised awareness about wildlife conservation, who ironically used to be a tiger hunter before he turned into a conservationist.
With 488 different species of flora, 50 species of mammals, 580 different species of birds and 25 reptile species, Jim Corbett National Park is a rich biodiversity reserve that attracts more than 70,000 visitors every season till date.
November to June are the best months to visit the national park, since monsoon months of July to October will face heavy rainfall. Situated at a distance of just 250 km from Delhi, the national park can be a perfect getaway into nature for the whole family.

Located at a distance of 58 km from Ghaziabad, Kuchesar is a small village in Uttar Pradesh. It was under the reign of Jat rulers back in the 18th century and later was the seat of Zamindari during the rule of the British.This historically rich village is home to a beautiful mud fort built by the Jats in the mid-18th century. A visit to the mud fort will give you an insight on the people they competed with, who included the Sikhs, Rajputs, even the British. However, the mud fort has now been turned to a luxury hotel. So if you wish to live in a bygone era for a couple of days, stop by the mud fort of Kuchesar.

Being the oldest National Park of India, Jim Corbett has a sub-Himalayan belt vegetation that contains nearly 500 types of species of flora. Some animals you can expect to witness in this beautiful national park include Himalayan black bears, chitals, Himalayan gorals, tigers, spotted deer, to name a few.Some birds that you might see are red junglefowl, crested serpent eagle, domestic fowl, etc. The distance from Kuchesar to Jim Corbett National Park is about 164 km, with nothing much to see in the middle.
Corbett Falls

The national park is home to a beautiful waterfall that appears almost out of nowhere. This mesmerising cascade falls from a height of 60 ft from a lush green backdrop. You can relax for sometime and listen to the chirping of birds or the sound of crickets.The waterfall can be visited between 8 am to 5 pm. Bathing is not allowed under the falls. A small trek of about 1.5 km will take you to the secluded falls.
Corbett Museum

A few kilometres away from the national park lies the Corbett Museum, which used to be the bungalow of Jim Corbett. The museum consists of the renowned environmentalist's belongings, letters from his close ones and rare photographs.The museum remains open from 7 am to 6 pm everyday throughout the year, except during the Holi festival.

Jungle safaris are available in the park either in jeeps or canters. For Indian citizens, a safari in a jeep of 6 people maximum costs Rs 4500, while a safari in the canter costs Rs 1500 per person. Witness animals in their natural habitats while revelling in nature's beauty through a jungle safari.You can try elephant riding or even go river rafting in the river Kosi that flows through the park.
