West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee the date for this year's Durga Puja Carnival after a meeting with various Durga Puja committees on Tuesday. The festival will take place from 9 October to 12 October, with the carnival scheduled for 15 October, three days after Vijayadashami. The carnival will be held on Kolkata's Red Road, where idols from major Durga Puja committees will be immersed.

Durga Puja Carnival and UNESCO Recognition

This year, the amount has been increased to Rs 85 thousand per club. Additionally, next year’s grant will be Rs 1 lakh per club.

According to media reports, approximately 43 thousand clubs will receive grant money from the state government for Durga Puja this year. The total expenditure for these grants is estimated to be around Rs 365 crore 50 lakh. This financial support helps ensure that the festivities are grand and inclusive.
