Less crowded streets lined with greenery and a serene coast with a heritage of more than 400 years stands as the best place for the curious travellers! Damão, as the Portuguese called it is now the small union territory of India, Daman.

Daman has its identity and charm which most don't know. Diu, its famous counterpart, often takes away all the limelight and tourists. The sleepy yet elegant Daman has several stories to tell! The Boat that landed!
Some explorer named Diogo De Melo, sailing towards Persia, accidentally bumped into Daman's coast. Should we say a bad luck? Don't know but this arrival turned Daman into a Portuguese Colony for over 450 years.

Two Makes One
Daman Ganga River cuts the region into Moti (Big) Daman and Nani (small) Daman. One has to cross the river to reach the other side.

Small, that rules the roost?
Interestingly, Nani (Small) Daman is the larger and busier out of both towns. Nani Daman is a commercialised centre; resorts, hotels and markets are mainly found here.
