Aurobindo Ashram is one of the prominent tourist attractions in Pondicherry. The Ashram was founded by Aurobindo Ghose and was led by Mirra Alfassa, who is also known as 'the Mother'. The centre has an expansive library related to the philosophies and studies of Sri Aurobindo.
There is also a small souvenir shop at the Ashram that sells books, greeting cards, souvenirs, incense sticks, paper products, candles and clothes. Apart from the Ashram, the city has other authorised shops of the Aurobindo Ashram, from where you could buy these products.
Casablanca is a three-storeyed departmental store from where you should shop while you are at Pondicherry. The ground floor sells branded cosmetics, perfumes and other personal care products. The first floor has garments and jewellery for sale. The second floor is one of the best places to shop in Casablanca, as it sells furniture and other decoration items at reasonable rates. There is also a whole pottery section from Auroville.

The premises also has a shop from where you can buy items made by the residents there. The items sold here include homemade soaps, perfumed candles, incense sticks, books and bookmarks.
