The first Metro line of Navi Mumbai, connecting Belapur and Pendhar, has been inaugurated and opened for public use. This line comes as a significant development for the residents of Navi Mumbai, expected to ease their daily commute, offering a quick and efficient transportation option.

Navi Mumbai Metro: A Journey of 13 Years
The elevated Metro line has been under construction for the past 13 years. The foundation stone was laid in 2011, but the project faced several delays due to issues with contractors and technical obstacles. Finally completed in April this year, it was eagerly awaiting inauguration.
Improved Connectivity and Future Plans
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that the Metro services would significantly improve the connectivity within Navi Mumbai. He added that the government aims to build a robust network of metro lines in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Route, Timing, and Fare Details
The Navi Mumbai Metro Belapur-Pendhar Line 1 will operate from 6 am to 10 pm, with a frequency of every 15 minutes. The fare structure ranges from Rs 10 for 0 to 2 km and goes up to Rs 40 for distances more than 10 km. The metro line has 11 stations, with the depot located at Taloja Panchanand.
The launch of Navi Mumbai's first Metro line is anticipated to be a game-changer for the city's public transport system.
