Here is a piece of news directly from Bali that there has been a ban on activities on mountains & volcanoes which if we see were the unique selling point to witness Bali's beauty. But the ban has been imposed by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster and it is forever.
This might be bad news for travelers who always wanted to explore Bali from the top, the hikers, trekkers, etc. Now, it won't be possible ever as as per reports, it's a forever ban. Locals are also not allowed now for any activities on mountains or volcanoes. Can you believe that? But, come on let us understand further why the Bali government has imposed such a ban, which will obviously hit the tourism industry as well.
Imagine, all small businesses nearby such locations where tourists used to perform mountain activities has been collapsed due to this forever ban. Also, the local tourist guides have their set business over there, but sadly now it is going to affect all of them directly or indirectly.
Wayan Koster also stated confirming that along with tourist, locals are also not allowed on the mountains and volcanoes until there any genuine situation. No one is allowed to enter the mountains, according to Koster, unless there are religious ceremonies, disaster management, or any other special activities which not clearly tourism activities.
Why Bali Government took this decision?
Some of Bali's top tourist attractions include its mountains and volcanoes. Many people may be shocked by the sudden decision to immediately outlaw such well-known locations. A total ban on all activities on Bali's twenty-two mountains has been enacted in response to multiple instances in which foreign tourists violated the honored nature of the island's holy mountain regions.
Although incidents that resulted in major tourist injuries or, in some unfortunate cases, deaths on the mountainsides also had a role in the decision to enforce the ban, public displays of nudity have been a significant part of this.
