The months of October to March are the best time of the year to visit Thoothukudi. The temperature is mild and pleasant which makes sightseeing a pleasure.

Summer

The summers in Thoothukudi are extremely hot and humid resulting from its proximity to the sea. It is experienced during the months of April to July, and the temperature hovers between 30° Celsius to 40° Celsius. It is not advisable to visit the city during this time of the year due to unpleasant weather conditions.

Monsoon

Thoothukudi receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon months. The monsoon are spread from August to October. The heavy rains would be a deterrent to tourist activities. However if one plans to visit the city during these months it is advisable to carry rain gear.

Winter

The winters of Thoothukudi are spread from November to January. The temperature comes down post the monsoon and hence the winters are quite pleasant. The temperature ranges from 20° Celsius to 30° Celsius. This is the best time of the year to visit the city.
