Ashapura Devi Mandir, Thane

The Ashapura Devi Mandir (Temple) is located on the Godbunder Road near Majiwada, in the district of Thane. This temple is 53 years old and was constructed in dedication to Goddess Ashapura. It is believed that the idol of Goddess Ashapura Devi is Swayambhu, that is, it originated on its own and isn’t built by man.

Legend has it that Goddess Ashapura fulfils any wish, irrespective of the caste of the devotees who pay a visit to her shrine. Tuesdays are usually crowded with many pilgrims pouring in to seek the Goddess’ blessings.
