How to reach Sambalpur by road

Most of the major cities in Sambalpur have well paved roads. The public transport system is appreciable. The Rourkela-Sambalpur highway is currently being upgraded from a four lane to a six lane highway to accommodate increased traffic. The roads leading to the Hirakud Dam are particularly scenic as are some of the roads leading to tourist destinations around Sambalpur.
