Wings Of Development: First Airline From Northeast India, Jettwings Airways

Jetwings Airways Is Ready To Connecting Northeast India To The World

Northeast India is on the brink of a new era of development as it prepares to welcome a new airline. With a remarkable count of 17 operational airports, the region is eagerly gearing up to enhance its air connectivity.

This endeavor aligns with the concerted efforts of the Government of India and the State Government to improve regional transportation through the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), thereby establishing stronger links among regional airports.

 First Airline From Northeast India

Recently, Jetwings Airways, based in Guwahati, made an exciting announcement. The airline has successfully obtained a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to operate as a "Scheduled Commuter Air Transport Services" provider in the North Eastern region of the country.

This milestone achievement positions Jetwings Airways as the latest addition to the domestic aviation sector and marks its potential to become the first airline from the Northeast India region to operate flights throughout the country.

Once the necessary clearances for flight operations are obtained, Jetwings will make history as the pioneering airline from the North Eastern region to commence operations in the country.

According to reports from the news agency PTI, Jetwings is actively working on a comprehensive plan to offer regional connectivity to multiple destinations in the northeastern and eastern regions, primarily under the government's UDAN scheme. The airline has set a target to initiate flights by October, aiming to provide convenient air travel options to passengers in these regions.

Jetwings Airways envisions the introduction of a modern fleet of aircraft, which will feature advanced turbofan and turbo-propelled models. These cutting-edge aircraft will be utilized to offer premium economy services for regional travel, ensuring comfort and efficiency for passengers.

Sanjay Aditya Singh, the co-founder, and CEO of Jetwings Airways, expressed his confidence in the company's progress. Having acquired the necessary license and NOC, they are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of the aircraft. Once the aircraft arrives, the next step involves obtaining the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which will pave the way for Jetwings to commence flight operations.

Jetwings Airways Chairman, Sanjive Narain, believes that the UDAN scheme presents a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the Northeast region by improving connectivity and creating new economic opportunities. The company anticipates receiving two aircraft by October to support its ambitious plans.

Jetwings Airways has set its sights on leasing at least five aircraft within a year. Presently, the airline will lease aircraft from companies recommended by the government, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Recognizing the paramount importance of reliable and high-quality regional connectivity, Jetwings Airways will initiate its operations with a team of skilled aviation professionals, committed to providing an exceptional travel experience for passengers.

In line with its customer-centric approach, the airline also has plans to launch a loyalty program. This program aims to attract and reward regular travelers, offering incentives and exclusive benefits to enhance customer loyalty.

The entry of Jetwings Airways into the aviation landscape of North East India signifies a significant milestone in the region's development. With a focus on improving air connectivity, the airline's commitment to providing efficient services, along with its plans for expansion and customer engagement, holds immense promise for the Northeast region.

The collective efforts of the government and Jetwings Airways will contribute to fostering economic growth, facilitating travel, and forging stronger connections within and beyond North East India.
