As the festive season approaches, Western Railway has introduced special trains to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic. These Festival Special Trains will run on special fares, offering additional travel options for those journeying to celebrate with their loved ones. The two major routes covered are Ahmedabad - Gwalior and Udhna - Kanpur Central. This initiative is aimed at ensuring smoother travel for passengers during this busy period.
Vineet Abhishek, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, shared details about these trains. He emphasized the railway's commitment to enhancing passenger convenience during the festive rush. Here's all you need to know about these special trains:
Udhna - Kanpur Central Special Train (09069 / 09070)
The Udhna - Kanpur Central special train (09069) will depart from Udhna every Monday at 5:30 AM and will reach Kanpur Central by 6:30 AM the next day. This service will be available from October 21st to November 11th, 2024.
For the return journey, train number 09070 will depart from Kanpur Central every Tuesday at 9:30 AM and reach Udhna by 10:00 AM the following day, operating from October 22nd to November 12th, 2024.
Ahmedabad - Gwalior Superfast Special (09411 / 09412)
The Ahmedabad - Gwalior Superfast Special (09411) will depart from Ahmedabad every Saturday at 8:25 PM, reaching Gwalior by 1:00 PM the next day. This service will run from October 19th to November 2nd, 2024.
For the return trip, train number 09412 will leave Gwalior every Sunday at 4:30 PM and reach Ahmedabad by 9:05 AM the following day. This service will be available from October 20th to November 3rd, 2024.
Key Stops and Coach Availability
Both trains will stop at important stations along the way. The Udhna - Kanpur Central special train will make stops at Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, and several other stations, while the Ahmedabad - Gwalior train will halt at Anand, Chhayapuri, and Godhra.
To ensure passenger comfort, these trains will have a variety of coach classes, including AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second-Class Coaches.
Booking and Information
Passengers can start booking their tickets for these Festival Special Trains from October 16th, 2024. Reservations can be made through PRS Counters or the IRCTC website. For more detailed information on train timings and stops, travelers can visit www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in.
