Holi 2025 is set to be celebrated with great enthusiasm, but this year, it coincides with Friday Ramzan prayers. To ensure peace and order, the Uttar Pradesh Police have issued strict guidelines. Their main focus is to prevent any new traditions from starting and to maintain the festival's traditional way of celebration. Security has been tightened across the state, with special attention given to sensitive areas and social media monitoring. These efforts aim to create a peaceful atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the festival without any disturbances.
Celebrating Traditionally and Maintaining Order
The police have made it clear that no new customs should be introduced during Holi celebrations. "All festivals should be celebrated traditionally," their directive states. This is to prevent any new activities that could lead to conflicts. Police officials have been instructed to study past Holi-related disputes and take action to prevent similar incidents this year.
Social Media Monitoring and Digital Surveillance
With the increasing role of social media in spreading information, the police are closely watching online platforms. Inspector General Rakesh Singh has directed media personnel to improve their social media handling skills. The aim is to stop the spread of fake news and prevent any posts that could disturb communal harmony.
The police are also strengthening their Digital Volunteer Groups in every district. These groups will help monitor online activities and ensure quick responses to any threats. Each police station must have at least two people skilled in social media monitoring.
To counter false information, senior police officers will address the media regularly, providing accurate updates. A special WhatsApp group will also be used for quick communication between districts. Additionally, the police will highlight the efforts of women officers on social media to raise public awareness.
Tight Security Arrangements in Sambhal District
In Sambhal district, where 16 fairs are planned, security has been increased. Authorities have set up 27 quick response teams to handle emergencies. The district has been divided into zones and sectors for better security management. CCTV cameras and extra police personnel have been deployed to monitor all activities and ensure safety.
Amid the preparations, BJP MLA Karnail Singh has requested the Muslim community to offer their Friday prayers at home. He emphasized mutual respect between communities, saying, "Our festival (Holi) comes once a year. We respect you, so please respect our festival and offer Namaz at home." This appeal highlights the importance of understanding and cooperation during overlapping religious events.
The Uttar Pradesh Police are making every effort to ensure that Holi 2025 is celebrated safely and peacefully. With increased security, strict monitoring, and public awareness, they aim to maintain order and harmony. People are encouraged to celebrate responsibly, keeping in mind the sentiments of all communities.
