The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted continued rainfall in several regions of India. Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu are expected to experience extended rain periods. A red alert has been issued for Sikkim due to anticipated heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next two days. Additionally, Bihar is likely to face significant rainfall, with a flash flood risk warning in 13 districts.

Heavy Rainfall Across East and West India
Rainfall is predicted to persist across East and West India and the Western Himalayan region for the next two days. The IMD anticipates light to moderate rain in Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat State over the coming three days. Marathwada will also see similar weather patterns throughout the week. East India can expect scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain over the next four days.
In Rajasthan, rain is expected through Sunday in many areas. Light to moderate showers with possible thunderstorms are predicted in parts of Kota, Udaipur, and Bharatpur divisions over the weekend. Some southern areas of Jodhpur division may also experience rain in the next few days. However, most of Rajasthan will see a decrease in rainfall after September 30.
Weather Conditions in Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh is experiencing persistent rain until Sunday. Jogindernagar recorded the highest rainfall at 80 mm since Thursday, followed by Palampur with 79.8 mm and Baijnath at 65 mm. Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti reported the lowest temperature at 8.2 degrees Celsius, while Bilaspur was warmest at 32.7 degrees Celsius.
The Disaster Management Department (DMD) has advised vigilance due to heavy rain warnings in Bihar. Local administrations have been urged to implement preventive measures as around 12 districts along the Ganga face flood-like conditions. District magistrates of affected areas have been contacted for necessary actions.
Sikkim Faces Severe Weather Challenges
Sikkim is under a red alert due to forecasts of heavy rainfall leading to multiple landslides affecting several villages in Soreng district's Daramdin area. A bridge collapse has isolated Mangan district headquarters from other parts of the state, with alternative routes blocked due to previous damage.
The national capital is expected to have a partly cloudy sky on Saturday with light showers predicted by the weather department. Temperatures are likely to reach a maximum of around 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of approximately 25 degrees Celsius.
In Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, isolated heavy rains are anticipated from September 28-29. Kerala and Mahe will experience similar conditions from September 28 until October 2 as per IMD alerts.
The IMD's predictions highlight significant weather activity across various Indian states over the coming days. Residents are advised to stay informed about local weather updates and take necessary precautions during this period of increased rainfall activity.
