Southern Railway has announced several special trains to help delegates and participants travel to Varanasi for the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 event. These trains will operate from Chennai, Kanyakumari, and Coimbatore to make long-distance travel easier during the festival period.

Trains to Run From Chennai
From Chennai, the Chennai Central-Banaras Express Special will run on three days: December 2, December 6, and December 12. Each train will leave Chennai Central at 4.15 am and reach Varanasi at 11.15 pm the next day. For the return journey, trains from Banaras to Chennai will depart at 11 pm on December 7, December 11, and December 17, arriving at Chennai Central at 4.15 am on the third day. Out of the 10 AC 3-tier coaches in these trains, six coaches will be exclusively reserved for the event delegates.
Trains From Coimbatore
Special trains will also operate from Coimbatore to Varanasi. These trains will leave Coimbatore at 6 pm on December 3 and December 9 and will reach Varanasi at 11.15 pm on the third day of travel. For the return trip, the trains will depart Varanasi at 11 pm on December 9 and December 15 and arrive in Coimbatore at 8.30 am on the fourth day.
Trains to Run From Kanyakumari
Similarly, the Kanyakumari-Banaras Express Specials will run on November 29 and December 7. These trains will start from Kanniyakumari at 11.45 am and reach Varanasi at 11.15 pm on the third day. The return trains from Banaras back to Kanniyakumari will leave at 11 pm on December 5 and December 13, reaching Kanniyakumari at 11.30 am on the fourth day.
The railways have also announced that advance ticket booking is now available for all passengers, except for the coaches reserved for official delegates of the event. This will help travellers plan their journey comfortably.
