To ease travel during the Diwali and Chhath Puja festivals, Western Railway has announced eight pairs of special unreserved trains on special fares. These trains will run between Bandra Terminus - Barauni, Valsad - Barauni, Udhna - Bhagalpur, Udhna - Samastipur, Pratap Nagar - Katihar, Pratap Nagar - Jaynagar, Sabarmati - Gorakhpur, and Sabarmati - Begusarai. According to

Western Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Vineet Abhishek, all these trains will run for a limited period in October 2025, and most of them will operate daily. All the trains will have General Second Class coaches, and passengers can travel without reservations.
Diwali Special Trains by Western Railways
• The Bandra Terminus - Barauni Special (Train 09079/09080) will run daily between October 15 and 29, taking around two days to complete the journey with several stops including Borivali, Vapi, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Prayagraj, and Patna.
• Similarly, the Valsad - Barauni Special (09089/09090) will also run daily from October 14 to 29, halting at major stations like Vadodara, Ratlam, Ujjain, Bina, Satna, Mirzapur, and Muzaffarpur.
• The Udhna - Bhagalpur Special (09081/09082) and Udhna - Samastipur Special (09091/09092) will also run daily during the same period, connecting passengers from Gujarat to Bihar with long routes covering Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
• Apart from these, two weekly special trains will run between Pratap Nagar and Katihar (09123/09124) and Pratapnagar and Jaynagar (09151/09152), operating twice during October.
• There are also tri-weekly trains from Sabarmati to Gorakhpur (09429/09430) and daily trains from Sabarmati to Begusarai (09431/09432).
These festival special trains will help migrants and festive travellers reach their hometowns comfortably and at affordable fares during the peak festive rush.
