Trains to be Affected

Train No. 16811 Mayiladuthurai-Salem Express, which is scheduled to leave Mayiladuthurai Junction at 6.15 am, will run only up to Virarakkiyam. The train will not operate between Virarakkiyam and Salem Junction because of the maintenance work. Similarly, Train No. 16812 Salem-Mayiladuthurai Express, which normally departs from Salem Junction at 2.05 pm, will start its journey from Karur Junction at 3.40 pm. The train will remain cancelled between Salem Junction and Karur Junction.

Train No. 16844 Palakkad Town-Tiruchi Express, scheduled to leave Palakkad Town at 6.30 am, will also be affected. It will terminate at Karur Junction instead of continuing to Tiruchi. After the maintenance work is completed, the train will operate as an unreserved special service from Karur Junction to Tiruchi Junction. It will stop at the same stations as the regular train on this section.

Another affected service is Train No. 16322 Coimbatore-Nagercoil Express, which is scheduled to depart Coimbatore Junction at 8 am. The train will be diverted between Coimbatore and Dindigul through Podanur, Pollachi, and Palani instead of its usual route.

Due to the diversion, the train will not stop at Coimbatore North, Peelamedu, Singanallur, Irugur, Sulur Road, Somanur, Tiruppur, Uthukuli, Ingur, Erode, Pasur, Kodumudi, Pugalur, Karur, Palayam, and Eriodu stations. However, to help passengers on the revised route, the train will make additional stops at Podanur and Pollachi railway stations.

Advisory for Passengers

The Salem Railway Division has advised passengers to check the revised train schedules before starting their journey and plan their travel accordingly, as these temporary changes have been made to facilitate essential track renewal and maintenance work at the Karur railway yard.
