The Southern Railway has announced temporary changes in the operation of three trains on July 10 due to track renewal and maintenance work at the Karur railway yard, being carried out to improve the safety and efficiency of railway operations.

List of Trains to be Affected
According to a release from the Salem Division of Southern Railway, Train No. 56809 Tiruchi-Erode Passenger, which is scheduled to leave Tiruchi Junction at 7.25 am, will be short-terminated at Karur Junction. As a result, the train will not run between Karur and Erode on July 10. Passengers travelling to stations beyond Karur are advised to make alternative travel arrangements.
Similarly, Train No. 16845 Erode-Sengottai Express will also be affected. The train, which normally departs from Erode Junction at 2 pm, will instead begin its journey from Karur Junction at 3.05 pm. The service will remain cancelled between Erode and Karur because of the maintenance work at the railway yard.
Another train affected by the track work is Train No. 16846 Sengottai-Erode Express. This train, which is scheduled to leave Sengottai at 5.20 am, will be short-terminated at Karur Junction and will not continue its journey to Erode.
To reduce inconvenience for passengers, Southern Railway has announced that an unreserved special train will be operated between Karur and Erode after the maintenance work is completed. The special train will stop at the same stations as the regular Sengottai-Erode Express, allowing passengers to complete their journey with minimal disruption.
Advisory for Passengers
The railway authorities have requested passengers to check the revised train schedule before travelling and plan their journeys accordingly. These temporary changes are part of essential track renewal and maintenance works aimed at ensuring safer and smoother train operations in the future. Passengers are also advised to follow updates issued by Southern Railway for any further changes to train services.
