World's longest river cruise, the Ganga Vilas Cruise has been launched virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, 13th January 2023. With this historic event, the ticket prices and other important details regarding bookings have come out. Keep reading to know about what it costs to be on the world's longest river cruise.
The opulent cruise will travel more than 3,200 kilometers along 27 different river systems in 5 states in Bangladesh and India. The trip will provide visitors with the chance to travel and immerse themselves in Bangladeshi and Indian art, culture, history, & spirituality.
According to official sources, the allegedly longest river cruise in the world is scheduled to visit 50 tourist destinations, including national parks, world heritage sites, the urban areas of Patna, Guwahati, Kolkata, and even the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka.
On board Ganga Vilas, passengers will get the opportunity to witness Varanasi's famed Ganga Aarti, travel to Sarnath, a Buddhist holy place, and witness Majuli, the center of Assamese Vaishnavite culture. According to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, tours of the Sunderbans and Kaziranga National Park are also included in the journey.
The Ganga Vilas ship is 62 meters long, and 12 meters wide, and sails well with a 1.4-meter draught. It features three decks, 18 suites, a capacity of 36 passengers, and all the amenities to give travelers a pleasant and luxurious experience. The initial group of visitors is from Switzerland.
Ticket price of Ganga Villas cruise:
The cost per passenger per day for the voyage ranges from INR 25,000 ($300) to INR 5000 ($600), according to Shipping & Waterways and Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal. According to Sonowal, the fare is the same for both Indians as well as foreigners. The Ganga Vilas cruise ticket will cost between INR 12.59 lakh ($15300) to ONR 40 lakh ($45000) for the entire 51 days, he said.
