These States To Experience Very Heavy Rainfall, Landslides, Floods Are Expected!

India is vulnerable to a wide range of natural disasters because of its diversified geographic features. Extreme weather phenomena, such as floods, landslides, and heavy rains, have become more frequent and represent a serious threat to several north Indian states.

These occurrences have the potential to seriously harm infrastructure, interfere with daily living, and even result in fatalities. In this article, we will focus on the states that are expected to experience very heavy rainfall, landslide, and floods in the near future.

Ministry of Earth Sciences India Meteorological Department reported that for the next 5 days, there will be heavy rainfall along the west coast of India including:

  • Konkan & Goa
  • Madhya Maharashtra

And for the next 3 days, there will be heavy rainfall in:

  • Gujarat
  • Chhattisgarh
  • Vidarbha
  • Telangana
  • Odisha
  • Northwest India which includes:
  • Jammu
  • Kashmir
  • Ladakh
  • Gilgit
  • Baltistan
  • Muzaffarabad
  • Himachal Pradesh
  • Uttarakhand
  • East Rajasthan is likely to have light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall from 18th to 22nd July 2023

On the other hand, in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall are predicted in the next five days from 18th July to 22nd July.

Western India also reported heavy to very heavy rainfall including Maharashtra (except Marathwada) and Gujarat for the next 5 and 3 days whereas Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra reported it for the next 3 days.

South India including Kerala, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, and Telangana ((including Hyderabad) reported heavy rainfall for the next 5 days wherein Andhra Pradesh reported it for 18th, 19th, and 22 July.

Odisha and Andaman & Nicobar Islands also expecting rains for the next 5 days and between the 20th to 22nd of July South Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, & Tripura are expecting isolated heavy rainfall.
