Telangana Government to Launch a Common Travel Pass

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and other ministers unveiled the new pass. During the launch, Vikramarka purchased one-day common passes for 15 ministers, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The government has introduced a common ticketing system to integrate Metro and RTC services. It also plans to include other public transport options, such as auto-rickshaws, on a shared digital platform in the future. The initiative is expected to improve first- and last-mile connectivity and reduce traffic congestion and pollution.

Alongside the launch, the government revised auto-rickshaw fares across Telangana through Government Order No. 46. The minimum fare has been increased to Rs 30 for the first 1.6 km, while every additional kilometre will cost Rs 14. Waiting charges have been fixed at 75 paise per minute. A 1.5-times fare will apply for journeys between 11 pm and 5 am. Existing digital meters must be updated to the revised rates within three months.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also requested an increase in the monthly financial assistance provided to TGSRTC from Rs 300 crore to Rs 350 crore to address issues faced by retired employees.

The government plans to strengthen public transport between rural areas and Hyderabad as part of its Vision 2047. The integrated system will use technology to provide convenient, safe, and faster travel while supporting the welfare of transport workers.
