Good news for train travellers! For the first time ever, a direct train will connect Bengaluru (Yeshwantpur) with the holy city of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. This new service has been introduced by the Railway Board to make travel easier for people who want to explore or pray in Rishikesh-famously known as the Yoga Capital of the World.
The South Western Railway (SWR) shared that this special train will run on a few select dates. Train No. 06597 will leave from Yeshwantpur at 7:00 AM on 19 June, 26 June, and 3 July. It will reach Rishikesh at 10:20 AM on the following Saturday-perfect timing for a peaceful weekend by the Ganges.
For those returning from Rishikesh, Train No. 06598 will depart at 5:55 PM on 21 June, 28 June, and 5 July, and will reach Yeshwantpur at 7:45 PM the next Monday. The schedule is designed to be helpful for both spiritual seekers and holidaymakers.
Stops Along the Way
The journey is not just long, it's also exciting! The train will stop at important stations like Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Dhone, Kurnool City, Kacheguda, Kazipet, Balharshah, Nagpur, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantt., Mathura, Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi), Ghaziabad, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Tapri, Roorkee, and Haridwar Junction before reaching Rishikesh. That means passengers can hop on from several major cities during their journey.
