Sikkim has launched India's longest ropeway, known as the Dhapper-Bale-Dhunga Ropeway, located in Yangang, South Sikkim. This incredible ropeway was officially opened to the public and is expected to greatly boost tourism in the region.
Ropeway Highlights
The Dhapper-Bale-Dhunga Ropeway stretches over 3.5 kilometers, making it the longest in the country. It ascends from 1,800 meters to 3,500 meters, offering passengers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. There are 18 cabins on the ropeway, each seating eight passengers, ensuring a comfortable and scenic ride for everyone.
Constructed by the French company Poma, the ropeway promises a world-class experience. It was built at a cost of ₹210 crore, funded under the Prime Minister's Development for North East Region (PM-DevINE) initiative.
