The Union Government has approved the renaming of Udyog Bhawan Metro Station in New Delhi to Seva Teerth Bhawan Metro Station, announced by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The metro station is located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro, one of the busiest routes in the city.

What does the Renaming Reflect?
The new name, Seva Teerth, means "a sacred place of service." The renaming reflects the government's focus on service, responsibility, and public welfare. The decision comes soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex, a major new government facility in the national capital. Renaming the metro station and the integrated government complex as Seva Teerth marks a shift away from colonial-era administrative structures toward a modern system focused on service to citizens. It highlights the government's intention to create a unified and efficient centre for executive functioning, while also symbolically reinforcing the idea that public service is a sacred duty. The renamed metro station will help commuters easily identify and access this key administrative zone in New Delhi.
Sava Teerth Complex
The Seva Teerth complex will house several important offices, including the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Cabinet Secretariat, and the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS). This complex is designed to bring key administrative departments together in one modern, integrated location, improving coordination and efficiency in governance.
Inauguration of Kartavya Bhavan-1 and Kartavya Bhavan-2
On the same day, the Prime Minister also inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan-1 and Kartavya Bhavan-2. These new buildings will accommodate many important ministries such as Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Education, Law and Justice, Agriculture, and others. Together, these buildings form part of a larger redevelopment aimed at modernising India's government infrastructure.
