Eastern Railway has announced special trains for Holi 2026 to help handle the increase in passengers travelling for the festival. These extra trains will make travel easier by adding more seats and reducing crowding on busy routes.

Sealdah to Malatipatpur Special Train
To begin with, a special train between Sealdah and Malatipatpur will run four times during the Holi period. This service starts from Sealdah every Friday from February 27 to March 20, 2026, and reaches Malatipatpur the next morning. The return journey runs from Malatipatpur every Saturday from February 28 to March 21, 2026, arriving back at Sealdah the next day. These trips include stops at major stations such as Andul, Kharagpur, Balasore, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar. Many classes of seats are available to passengers to meet different needs.
Holi Special Trains
Moreover, Eastern Railway will operate special Holi trains between Dankuni and Anand Vihar Terminal. These trains run on two sets of dates: one departing Dankuni on February 28 and March 7, 2026, and reaching Anand Vihar the following day, and the return service leaving Anand Vihar on March 1 and March 8, 2026, to reach Dankuni the next day. This route has several stops along the journey, including Barddhaman, Asansol, Gaya, and Prayagraj, covering many important stations.
Together, these special trains add up to about 12,600 extra berths for travellers during the festival period. Eastern Railway is encouraging passengers to book their tickets early through official railway reservation counters or online platforms so they can travel comfortably during the busy Holi season.
