The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall alerts for various regions across India. Several states, including Telangana, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, and areas in Northeast India, are expected to experience significant rainfall in the coming days. Additionally, severe weather warnings have been issued for Rajasthan and Gujarat, with orange and red alerts, respectively.

Telangana Braces for Heavy Rain
In Telangana, the IMD predicts thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds in several districts. Areas such as Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, and Mahabubabad are on alert. Hyderabad, the state's capital, is expected to have generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms. These conditions will likely be accompanied by gusty winds, with temperatures in the city ranging between 27°C and 23°C.
Heavy Rainfall Expected in Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, and Northeast India
From September 2 to 4, heavy rains are expected in Kerala and Mahe. Coastal Karnataka is also likely to experience significant rainfall on September 2 and 3. The IMD has also forecasted heavy rains in Northeast India, particularly in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, from September 2 to 5. Arunachal Pradesh and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands should prepare for prolonged heavy rains during the same period.
Severe Weather Warnings for Rajasthan and Gujarat
East Rajasthan is under an orange alert for very heavy rainfall on September 7 and 8. In Gujarat, the IMD has issued a red alert for Bharuch and Surat districts on September 4. These areas are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy downpours. The severe weather could lead to significant disruptions, so residents and travelers should stay informed and take necessary precautions.
Rainfall Forecasts for Other Regions
Other regions in India are also expected to experience heavy rainfall in the coming days. In Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, and Uttarakhand, significant rainfall is anticipated. West Uttar Pradesh will see isolated heavy rains on September 4, while East Uttar Pradesh is expected to have similar conditions on September 6.
The IMD has forecasted light to moderate spells of rain over North Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, as well as Rayalaseema, adjoining Karnataka, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, east Vidarbha, south Marathwada, adjoining Telangana, South Haryana, Delhi, and parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Bihar is expected to experience heavy rains on September 4, while Odisha will see similar conditions on September 5 and 6. In Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, heavy rains are forecasted for September 4 and 5.
