Rain and strong winds brought relief to Delhi residents on Monday as several parts of the city received light to moderate rainfall, helping reduce the heat and leading to a slight drop in temperatures across the national capital.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Palam recorded the highest rainfall in Delhi, receiving 9 mm of rain till 5:30 pm. Ayanagar received 4.6 mm of rainfall. Safdarjung and Lodhi Road recorded only trace amounts of rain, while the Ridge observatory did not receive any measurable rainfall during the same period.
The maximum temperature at Safdarjung, considered Delhi's main weather station, was recorded at 37.5 degrees Celsius, which was one degree below the normal level. Palam also registered a maximum temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius. Lodhi Road recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius, while Ayanagar touched 38 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature in the city was reported at the Ridge station, where the mercury reached 38.8 degrees Celsius.
Weather officials said that daytime temperatures remained close to normal levels across Delhi. Safdarjung recorded a departure of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius from normal, while Palam was 1.7 degrees Celsius below normal. Officials added that maximum temperatures showed a slight decline compared to the previous day, mainly due to rainfall and cloudy conditions.
The minimum temperature at Safdarjung was recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius, which was slightly above normal. Other stations recorded lower minimum temperatures, with Palam at 25.4 degrees Celsius, Ridge at 25.5 degrees Celsius, Lodhi Road at 26 degrees Celsius, and Ayanagar at 26.6 degrees Celsius.
Rain Alert in Delhi
The IMD has predicted thunderstorms and rain for Tuesday. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius, while the maximum may reach 38 degrees Celsius.
