Indian Railways has cancelled eight train services operating in and around Puri due to planned safety-related infrastructure works. The cancellations have been announced to allow railway authorities to carry out important maintenance and improvement activities safely. These works are being conducted to strengthen railway infrastructure and ensure safer and smoother train operations in the Puri section.

Puri Trains Cancellation
The cancelled services mainly include MEMU trains that connect important locations such as Puri, Khurda Road, Cuttack, Bhadrak, and Paradip. These trains are widely used by daily passengers, students, workers, and local travellers for short-distance journeys across Odisha.
The affected trains include Train No. 68403 Khurda Road-Puri MEMU and Train No. 68404 Puri-Khurda Road MEMU, which provide regular connectivity between Khurda Road and the holy city of Puri. Both services have been cancelled due to the scheduled safety works.
The Cuttack-Puri MEMU (Train No. 68415) and Puri-Cuttack MEMU (Train No. 68416) have also been cancelled. These trains are important for passengers travelling between Cuttack and Puri, especially those visiting Puri for religious and tourism purposes.
Apart from these, the Bhadrak-Cuttack MEMU (Train No. 68437) and Cuttack-Bhadrak MEMU (Train No. 68438) services have been affected. These trains provide connectivity between northern Odisha and major railway hubs.
The Cuttack-Paradip MEMU (Train No. 58405) and Paradip-Cuttack MEMU (Train No. 58406) have also been cancelled during the period of the railway work. These services are important for passengers travelling towards the industrial and port city of Paradip.
Reason behind the Temporary Cancellations
Railway officials stated that the temporary cancellation of these eight trains is necessary to complete the safety works without disruption and to improve future train operations. Passengers have been advised to check the latest updates from railway authorities before planning their journeys. Normal services are expected to resume after the completion of the scheduled works.
