With Navratri starting on Friday, Pune's city traffic police are ready to manage the large number of people coming to celebrate. From October 3 to 12, there will be road closures and traffic diversions around key religious sites like Chatushrungi Temple, Bhavani Mata Temple, and Tambdi Jogeshwari Temple. These places are expected to attract big crowds.

To keep things organized, the police have put some restrictions on vehicle movement. Vehicles will not be allowed to go from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk. Drivers are advised to take alternative routes through Gadital Putala and Shivaji Road. On the other hand, one-way traffic will be allowed from Budhwar Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk. This measure aims to ease some of the expected traffic jams.
The route from Ramoshi Gate Chowk to the Old Motor Stand along Mahatma Phule Road will be closed for vehicles and will be a no-parking zone. Traffic will be redirected through alternative routes like AD Camp Chowk and Bhagwan Bahubali Chowk to help keep the flow steady. Those affected by the no-parking rule on Mahatma Phule Road can park on Pandit Nehru Road.
Public transport will also change. Pune Municipal Transport (PMPML) buses starting from Ramoshi Gate will take a new route through Seven Loves Chowk to Golibar Maidan to avoid the closed areas. If you are trying to reach Tambdi Jogeshwari Temple from Ganpati Chowk, you can take an alternative route through Sevasadan Chowk and Shaniwar Wada. No-parking areas will be set up around the temple and nearby Ashtabhuja Devi and Durga Mandirs to keep traffic moving smoothly.
For Chatushrungi Temple, located on Senapati Bapat Road, traffic from Patrakar Nagar Chowk to Senapati Bapat Junction will be limited to a one-way system via Shivaji Housing Junction. Traffic going to the temple will be rerouted through Vetalbaba Chowk and Deep Bangla Chowk. Drivers coming from Veer Chapekar Chowk should use the path via Suryamukhi Datta Mandir Chowk and Sanganna Dhotre Path, leading directly to the Polytechnic parking gate.
These traffic measures aim to keep the Navratri celebrations enjoyable and safe for everyone while managing the city's traffic flow. The police urge all drivers to follow the new routes and restrictions to help avoid traffic jams and ensure a smooth experience for festival-goers.
