IndiGo flights from Pune to Delhi will start using the new terminal at Pune Airport from Monday, July 22. The new terminal began operations on July 14 for passengers flying to New Delhi and Bhubaneswar, Odisha's capital.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pune Airport announced, "Attention passengers! Starting July 22, 2024, @PuneAirport is shifting some of the Indigo flights between Pune and Delhi to the New Integrated Terminal Building." The airport also listed the flight numbers being moved to the new terminal: 6E-2618, 6E-2418, 6E-2343, 6E-2419, 6E-2471, 6E-5261, 6E-2273, 6E-2278, 6E-2674, and 6E-2279.
New Terminal Facilities
The new terminal spans an area of 52,000 square meters and can handle up to nine million passengers annually. This is a significant improvement over the current terminal's capacity of seven million passengers within its 22,000 square meter space. The upgraded terminal aims to enhance passenger travel experience with modern amenities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal via video conferencing on March 10. The first flights from this terminal were Air India's AI-858 to New Delhi and Air India Express' I5 320 to Bhubaneswar.
Enhanced Passenger Experience
The new terminal features ten aerobridges, centralized air-conditioning, and five baggage carousels. Two of these carousels are specifically designated for international arrivals. Additionally, there are 34 counters and 25 self-check-in stations available for passenger convenience.
"Passengers travelling on these flights are advised to check-in and proceed to the new integrated terminal building which offers state-of-the-art facilities and amenities to ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience," said Santosh Dhoke, director of Pune Airport as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Cultural Touches
The new terminal building in Pune cost ₹423 crore to construct and covers an area of approximately 51,595 square meters. It features murals that depict the region's culture and heritage, adding a local touch to the modern infrastructure.
Pune Airport's announcement on X emphasized that passengers should be aware of these changes starting July 22. The airport aims to provide a seamless transition for travellers with enhanced facilities at the new terminal.
This development marks a significant upgrade in infrastructure aimed at improving passenger experience at Pune Airport. With increased capacity and modern amenities, the new terminal is set to handle more traffic efficiently while offering better services.
