The Shri Sujavan Dev Temple in Prayagraj is set to get a permanent bathing ghat on the banks of the Yamuna River. This decision has been made to improve facilities for the growing number of devotees, especially during the Yam Dwitiya fair. The ghat will provide a safe and convenient place for religious rituals and bathing, making the pilgrimage experience better for visitors.

Initiative Led by Religious and Local Leaders
Mahant Rajiv Giri Ji Maharaj, the Peethadheeshwar of Sujavan Dev and the village head of Deoria, took the first step in this initiative. During the Yam Dwitiya fair in Devariya village of Jasra development block, he requested the construction of a permanent ghat from Vivek Singh, the President of the Prayagraj District Panchayat. Singh has approved the proposal, marking a significant step in the temple's development.
Site Inspection and Approval
To move the project forward, Rajesh Shukla, the Protocol Minister for the District Panchayat President, visited the proposed site for the ghat. His visit was part of the preparation process to assess the location and finalize the construction plan. The site has been carefully chosen to accommodate the large number of visitors while ensuring their safety.
A key meeting is scheduled for April 10 to finalize the construction details. Mahant Rajiv Giri Ji Maharaj has stated that the construction will begin soon after the meeting. On Sunday, March 30, engineers and officials conducted a preliminary site inspection. The temple's chief priest, Gyanendra Goswami Ji Maharaj, and Mahant Rajiv Giri Ji Maharaj were also present, showing the temple community's strong support for the project.
The construction of a permanent ghat at Shri Sujavan Dev Temple is an important step in improving facilities for pilgrims. This project will not only make religious practices easier but also help preserve the natural beauty of the Yamuna River's banks. The authorities are committed to enhancing religious sites while ensuring visitor safety and convenience.
Once completed, the ghat will provide a well-structured place for rituals, reducing crowding and ensuring a peaceful experience for devotees. This development reflects the ongoing efforts to maintain and improve historical and spiritual sites in Prayagraj.
