In a significant move towards advancing railway connectivity and passenger experiences, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to launch nine new Vande Bharat Express trains on September 24, 2023, at 12:30 PM through video conferencing.

According to PIB, these newly introduced Vande Bharat trains represent a major stride towards realizing the Prime Minister's vision of enhancing nationwide connectivity while providing world-class amenities to railway passengers. The upcoming trains scheduled for inauguration are as follows:
1. Udaipur - Jaipur Vande Bharat Express
2. Tirunelveli-Madurai- Chennai Vande Bharat Express
3. Hyderabad - Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express
4. Vijayawada - Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express
5. Patna - Howrah Vande Bharat Express
6. Kasaragod - Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express
7. Rourkela - Bhubaneswar - Puri Vande Bharat Express
8. Ranchi - Howrah Vande Bharat Express
9. Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express
These nine trains will significantly bolster connectivity across eleven states, benefitting Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat.
What sets these Vande Bharat trains apart is their impressive speed, which is poised to save substantial travel time for passengers. Compared to the current fastest trains along their respective routes, here are the time-saving projections:
- Rourkela- Bhubaneswar - Puri Vande Bharat Express and Kasaragod - Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express: Approximately 3 hours faster.
- Hyderabad - Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express: Over 2.5 hours faster.
- Tirunelveli-Madurai- Chennai Vande Bharat Express: Over 2 hours faster.
- Ranchi - Howrah Vande Bharat Express, Patna - Howrah Vande Bharat Express, and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express: About 1 hour faster.
- Udaipur - Jaipur Vande Bharat Express: Approximately half an hour faster.
In alignment with the Prime Minister's mission to enhance connectivity to significant religious destinations nationwide, the Rourkela- Bhubaneswar - Puri Vande Bharat Express and Tirunelveli-Madurai- Chennai Vande Bharat Express will link the revered towns of Puri and Madurai. Additionally, the Vijayawada - Chennai Vande Bharat Express will operate via the Renigunta route, providing essential connectivity to the Tirupati Pilgrimage center.
According to PIB, the introduction of these Vande Bharat trains signals a transformative era in Indian rail services. These trains are equipped with world-class amenities and advanced safety features, including the revolutionary Kavach technology.
