Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch several key projects in Odisha during his visit on September 17. A major highlight will be the foundation stone for railway and national highway projects worth over ₹2,800 crore and ₹1,000 crore, respectively. These projects aim to enhance Odisha's connectivity, boosting the state's transportation infrastructure.

Alongside these, PM Modi will inaugurate the Subhadra Yojana, a women-centric initiative that empowers eligible women through financial support, providing ₹50,000 over five years. This program, named after Goddess Subhadra, aims to benefit over 1 crore women in the state. On the day, the Prime Minister will also initiate fund transfers for more than 10 lakh women under the scheme.
The focus on national highway projects includes upgrading several road networks, improving travel between cities, and enhancing trade routes. With a keen emphasis on connectivity, these projects will boost regional development and economic growth. The railway projects, worth ₹2,800 crore, will modernize the region's rail infrastructure, improving both passenger and freight services.
Beyond these initiatives, PM Modi will release the first installment of financial assistance to nearly 10 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-G), covering 14 states. Additionally, the event will witness the Griha Pravesh celebrations for 26 lakh PMAY beneficiaries across the country.
The launch of the Awaas+ 2024 App, designed for surveying additional households under PMAY-G, and the operational guidelines for PMAY-Urban 2.0 will also be unveiled. These measures focus on providing affordable housing to more citizens, significantly improving the living standards in rural and urban areas.
The visit and the launch of these projects, including the Subhadra Yojana and major infrastructure developments, are expected to leave a lasting impact on Odisha's growth, women's empowerment, and the well-being of millions across the state and the country.
