On August 31, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express, a new semi-high-speed train that promises to boost connectivity between Meerut and Lucknow. The train is designed to significantly reduce travel time between these two key cities in Uttar Pradesh to less than seven hours.
Route and Schedule
The Vande Bharat Express will pass through several important cities, including Hapur, Moradabad, and Bareilly. It will operate six days a week, taking a break on Wednesdays. The inaugural journey will begin from Meerut at 12:30 PM on August 31, with the train expected to reach Moradabad by 2:30 PM, Bareilly by 3:51 PM, and Lucknow by 7:40 PM. Passengers on this special trip will enjoy complimentary travel passes.
Starting from September 1, the train will depart from Lucknow at 2:45 PM, reaching Bareilly at 6:02 PM, Moradabad at 7:32 PM, and finally Meerut by 10:00 PM. The return journey will commence on September 2 at 6:35 AM from Meerut, stopping at Moradabad by 8:35 AM, Bareilly by 9:56 AM, and arriving in Lucknow by 1:35 PM.
