Indian Railways has announced special train services between Hubballi and Kottayam via Bengaluru to help passengers travelling home for the Onam festival. The additional trains have been introduced to handle the heavy passenger traffic expected during the festive season. Reservation for these special trains began on July 30.

Onam Special Trains from Bengaluru
The first special train, Hubballi-Kottayam Express Special (Train No. 07351), will depart from Hubballi at 6:30 pm on August 25, which is the eve of Thiruvonam. The train will reach Kottayam at 4:40 pm on August 26. During the journey, it will stop at important stations including Bengaluru, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva and Ernakulam Town, making travel easier for passengers heading to different parts of Kerala.
The return service, Train No. 07352, will depart Kottayam at 10:30 pm on August 26 and arrive at Hubballi at 8:00 pm on August 27. This service is expected to benefit passengers returning after celebrating the festival with their families.
Railways has also announced a second pair of Onam special trains. Hubballi-Kottayam Special (Train No. 07353) will leave Hubballi at 3:15 pm on August 29 and reach Kottayam at 4:15 pm on August 30. The return train, Train No. 07354, will start from Kottayam at 10:30 pm on August 30 and reach Hubballi at 8:05 pm on August 31.
How will these Special Trains Benefit Passengers?
These special trains are expected to provide major relief to thousands of passengers travelling between Karnataka and Kerala during the Onam holidays. Every year, train tickets on this route get booked quickly due to the festive rush. By introducing these additional services, Indian Railways aims to reduce crowding on regular trains and ensure that more people can travel comfortably to celebrate Onam with their families.
