To handle the large number of passengers travelling during the winter season, Indian Railways has decided to extend several long-distance special trains that connect Gujarat, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. December is usually a busy month, and these extensions are meant to offer more seats and reduce travel inconvenience for people

heading home or on vacation.
Rajkot-Mahbubnagar Special Train
As part of this plan, the Rajkot-Mahbubnagar special train (Train No. 09575) will continue to run every Monday from December 1 to December 29. The return service (Train No. 09576) will operate on Tuesdays from December 2 to December 30. This extension ensures smoother travel options for passengers moving between Gujarat and Telangana throughout the month.
Extended Services
Railways have also extended services on the Okha-Madurai route. Train No. 09520 from Okha to Madurai will run every Monday, while the return train, Train No. 09519 from Madurai to Okha, will operate on Fridays. These services have been extended until January 2, 2026, giving passengers more flexibility during the holiday season and the New Year travel rush.
These extensions are part of the Railways' broader strategy to manage crowding and provide sufficient capacity during peak travel periods. By continuing these special trains, the Railways hopes to make long-distance travel more comfortable, reduce last-minute booking problems, and ensure that passengers have enough options during high-demand days.
