The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has teamed up with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to simplify sightseeing in Delhi. This new partnership allows people to book tickets for ASI-managed monuments directly through DMRC's Momentum 2.0 mobile app.

This collaboration, made official through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), brings modern technology to the tourism experience, offering seamless access to both Delhi Metro services and some of Delhi's most iconic historical sites.
Key Highlights of the Initiative
- Unified Ticketing System: A QR-based ticketing system is now available for Metro rides and ASI-protected monuments. This means visitors can book their metro and monument tickets in one go.
- Monuments Covered: Famous landmarks like Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Lal Quila (Red Fort), and Purana Qila are part of this initiative.
- Historical Signages: Special boards and signs featuring historical facts about monuments will be placed at select metro stations, helping tourists learn more about Delhi's rich past.
- Cultural Promotion: DMRC and ASI will organize public events and use digital platforms to raise awareness about Delhi's cultural heritage.
This user-friendly feature aims to make traveling and exploring Delhi a smooth experience for both local residents and international tourists.
Benefits for Tourists and Residents
With this integrated system, visitors can now plan their trips more conveniently. The app allows people to explore the city's historical treasures while enjoying the comfort of Delhi Metro. This move not only promotes tourism but also showcases Delhi as a city that values its cultural heritage.
Special Arrangements for IITF 2024
In addition to the monument ticketing feature, DMRC has made visiting the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 more convenient. Tickets for the event, held at the Bharat Mandapam Complex, can now be booked online through the Delhi Sarathi app starting November 11.
The inclusion of QR-coded tickets and the option to book 8-seater golf carts for transportation within the event venue makes it easier for families, elderly visitors, and people with mobility challenges to navigate the large grounds. The golf carts will run in two shifts daily, ensuring a pleasant experience for all attendees.
Educating Commuters About Heritage
Through this initiative, commuters and tourists will not only enjoy easier access to monuments but also gain knowledge about their historical importance. The placement of informative ASI boards at metro stations encourages a deeper appreciation of Delhi's cultural legacy.
A Forward-Thinking Step
This partnership between DMRC and ASI demonstrates a smart approach to making Delhi a top destination for cultural tourism. It simplifies sightseeing and supports heritage education while offering a world-class travel experience.
These efforts reflect a vision to blend modern convenience with the celebration of history, making Delhi's treasures more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
