The Noida Metro Aqua Line is set to expand, offering improved connectivity and easing traffic woes in Noida and Greater Noida. The final proposal for the extension to Knowledge Park-V has been submitted to the central government for approval. This project, expected to cost ₹2,991.60 crore, has already received the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet's approval, marking a significant step toward enhancing the region's public transport network.
According to Lokesh M, Managing Director of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), the extension will play a key role in improving daily commutes by reducing traffic congestion on major roads like Vikas Marg and the Noida-Greater Noida Link Road. He highlighted the project's importance in connecting crucial areas and offering commuters a reliable alternative to road travel.
Expansion Details
The proposed extension will stretch 17.435 km and add 11 new stations to the Aqua Line. Starting from the existing Sector 51 station, the new stops will include:
1. Sector 61 (interchange with DMRC's Blue Line)
2. Sector 70
3. Sector 122
4. Sector 123
5. Greater Noida Sector 4
6. Eco Tech-12
7. Greater Noida Sectors 2, 3, 10, 12
8. Knowledge Park-V
This extended route aims to enhance connectivity to both the Aqua Line and the Delhi Metro Blue Line, promising a seamless travel experience for thousands of daily commuters.
